Remodel the Family Room

We are ready to do some more home remodeling. We want to update our basement, maybe paint and all that good stuff. I found a few pictures of some inspiration pictures for my family room.

I like the idea of a couch and 2 chairs.  This picture reminds me of our layout. I can see this looking good in our family room.

Splash Pad Fun

Tana and I took the boys to the Splash Pad a few weeks ago to enjoy some cooling off time.

Living Room Update

We updated our Living Room during the month of March. It all started when Bryan came home for Spring Break and got us going with the Board and Batten on the wall. Then we had to paint and then one thing lead to another and "Bob's your Uncle" we have a new living room!  I like how it turned out so far.

We decided on a warm Riveria Sand colored paint.  

We are in a MESS, but the paint is done..YEAH

We still  have a few more things we want to do to this room, but it is coming along and for now it looks nice. We hope to get new carpet sometime this year!

Pictures

Just a few pictures of things we have done this year.  Valentine's Day was fun with Laura and family.  We made some sugar cookies and dipped pretzels.   I have made bread and played with grandkids.  Our current project is redoing our living room.  I have book club here in March, so a living room redo was a must! More to come on that later.

Make a Snowman with Austen and Dirk

In keeping with my goal to make bread, I made French Bread in February.  It turned out very yummy!

The key is to let it rise in the oven with hot water... it gives it a crusty crust and a moist center. 

My attempt at Pumpernickel bread.  

My first attempt wasn't so great, so I called my Mom and asked her what I did wrong and she gave me some good advise and then I tried again.  Second batch turned out so much better.  Thanks Mom. 

I adjusted the recipe and let the yeast work better for t he second batch. 

Bathroom Before and After

Some BEFORE pictures of our downstairs powder room bathroom. It needed a makeover in a big way.  We decided we could do the work ourselves, so we found an inspiration picture and began the demo!

We took down the mirror and shelves that were in the bathroom.

We ripped out this sink, it was cracked and falling apart.

AFTER

We found our paint at Home Depot.  It was OOPS paint so we bought it for $7.00.  SCORE!

Bathroom Remodel

We have been busy doing some home remodeling this year.  We updated the master bedroom and now we are working on our "powder bathroom".  Here is our inspiration.
