Birthday and Walk

January was a busy month filled with fun. I like January because it is my birthday month! This year for my birthday I picked to go to Las Vegas! We enjoyed a weekend retreat there and I loved getting a pedicure!

Here I am on my birthday.... home from warm Las Vegas!  I had to sit by the fire to stay warm.  I am wearing my new necklace from Laura and family.

We had a nice party with Tana, Austen and Dirk....

Thanks everyone for the nice Birthday wishes and gifts.  You're a great family...(the silver gift on the table is from Tana, Austen and Dirk... it was a pedicure kit! AND, they are going to give me a pedicure! can't wait)

Saturday morning was so beautiful, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to go for a walk up the Cedar Canyon Trail. We had some nice warm weather last week... now we are back to freezing cold.

Back to Logan

Bryan went back to school on Sunday. It was bittersweet to have him leave us. We are happy he is going back to school and getting a good education, but it is fun to have him home as he keeps us all entertained!

Bryan and I like to cook when we get together and when the stars all line up and we are in a cooking mood! Here is an example of some of the wonderful food we whipped up in our spare time.  

Omelets-- These turned out okay.  The secret is to whip your eggs for 5 minutes or so!  They are fluffy

Raspberry Cheesecake Muffins--- one word....YUMMY, we couldn't stop eating them.

Prime Rib... it was a perfect Rib... So succulent and juicy.  Magnificent..

Mamasita's Dos Sico Nachos ( I made up this recipe!)  These were so good, we ate the whole pan!  

Thanks for all the fun Bryan... Now get back to your studies!

We have also been watching a lot of sports around our house lately!  Football meets Basketball and then times that by 10!  I like it most of the time, but if it gets to be too much, I just come in the office and blog!  

(Tonight was Oregon against Auburn for the BCS Bowl)

Santa Claus came to Town

We had our family Christmas Tea and Recital on December 22 this year. Our big event was a visit from SANTA CLAUS! The grandkids were in awe as this big 6'5" Santa and two cute elves walked into the house! He was a very good Santa and everyone sat on his lap, including me....it was fun!

Our family party was a fun time and everyone did so well on their recital piece... we have a very talented and wonderful family.  Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Edwards for coming to our party.  Grandpa told stories of Christmas memories and Grandma played a beautiful piano piece!

Christmas Card 2010

We finally got the Christmas cards done! I am doing them over the email now. It may be cheesy, but it is what I do! Bryan was so great and helped me post and even wrote the Christmas letter!

Friends and family,

Another year has gone by and so much has changed for our family.

Mom and Dad have truly become empty nesters. With so much time on their hands, they have found joy in sprucing up the house in areas that have started to show wear and tear after 12 years. Recent additions to the home include a new awning for the back patio and new granite counter tops. Dad uses the basement to load bullets and Mom quit work in May and has become an avid blogger and grandma extraordinaire. They also keep busy as Institute teachers on Thursday nights and Temple workers on Friday mornings.  They like to travel now and plan on a cruise in 2011!

Ben and Tana continue to be a military Family. We are proud of Ben as he is courageously serving our country as a soldier in Afghanistan. We are able to keep in touch with him through e-mail and video chat. We love you Ben and thank you for your service. Tana lives in Springdale and is kept busy by Austen and Dirk, her two sons that have a knack for destruction. Austen loves Grandma and Grandma’s house and Dirk hates to go to bed. They are anxiously awaiting a new addition to their family sometime in April!

Laura and Ben are well established in Eagle Mountain. Ben is a State Trooper for the Highway Patrol. Laura has become a homemaking goddess, everyone is jealous of her crafting abilities and her matured level of motherhood. Kaelynn is in now in 1^st grade in Mrs. Lamb’s class. She likes reading and playing with Barbies. Tyler is 5, and is in pre-school. He likes to play video games wear his glasses. Caleb (aka Cooter) is invincibly happy; he loves to play with his siblings, cousins, and uncles.

Jeff and Sarah are rejoicing as Jeff has graduated with his masters in Accounting and is looking for a job. Sarah has a small blog called proofread that she uses to sell headers and other graphics over the internet. This year they become the proud parents of baby Eli.

That leaves me, Bryan. I am in the frozen north lands of Logan Utah, going to school at Utah State. I am a junior and am well on my way to getting my degree in computer engineering. The family uses me as a resource for all things tech related. I am still looking for my one and only.

We are all thankful and our blessings are many. We wish everyone a wonderful Christmas season and a happy new year. May the Lord continue to bless you and your family.
